How the planner works
The outline uses only what our guides already say: the time each guide recommends on the ground, its month-by-month ratings and its official links. It does not make bookings itself; once you have an outline, the labelled partner links under "Book your stops" open flight, hotel and ticket searches for each stop. Travel time between stops is not included, so add it yourself, especially between regions.
What to budget for
We do not print figures because they change often. When you plan, set aside money for each of these and confirm the current details on the official pages the planner lists:
- Entry tickets, permits or timed-entry slots for each site
- Licensed guides, where a site requires or recommends them
- Local transport to and from each site
- Visas and travel insurance for every country on the route
- Accommodation near sites where an early start helps
